Love & Basketball

The game of basketball has been a passion of mine ever since I was a child. I watched great collegiate programs, such as Tennessee Lady Vols, to the inaugural season of the WNBA on June 21,1997 as the Sparks took on the Liberty. Whereas I’ve been able to watch the reigning Women’s Basketball National Champions, the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.
This is a game that I’ve loved for a while and appreciate the greatness that contributes towards it. As the state of Women’s Basketball is turning and fueled with excitement, I focus on catching moments with those who’ve paved the way or are in the process of doing so… even if I have to catch it on the Jumbotron.
Those in attendance to witness A’ja Wilson’s jersey retirement, just to name a few, were former player and SEC Network Analyst, Tamika Catchings; former player and Las Vegas Aces Head Coach Becky Hammon; former player, coach, and President of the Las Vegas Aces, Nikki Fargas; Jackie Young of the Las Vegas Aces; Allisha Gray of the Atlanta Dream and former Gamecock; future great Joyce Edwards of USC Women’s Basketball Team; Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat; former Las Vegas Aces Assistant Coach and current Chicago Sky Head Coach Tyler Marsh; and of course former player and Coach for USC Women’s Basketball, Coach Dawn Staley.
Thanks to those who have served the game, and those who continue to do so. “Purpose can be grounded in significance over success. However, as leaders, the process steers more so toward the impact of lives touched and not merely captured in titles.” ~ The REALity of Interpersonal Leadership
