Congratulations to A’ja Wilson on your jersey retirement at the University of South Carolina! This is well deserved!
I got to witness the greatness of this moment, and found a few takeaways:
Own the room and exude your confidence! E.G.O., Exuding Greatness Only! The measure of your confidence can alter outcomes.
If your team doesn’t cheer and hype you up like this, get a new team! Not only did USC’s Women’s team join in, her former teammate Coach Khadijah Sessions hyped her up the entire time as she posed.
Live in the moment and be true to who you are! Authenticity at its finest. People are relatable when they are consistently themselves, leaving people to gravitate towards them.
“Have you witnessed someone naturally influence others just by entering a room? Are they able to pull on the strengths of others and get engagement where some people struggle for a response? Some take it as a motivation to want to be that type of leader. Well, imitation is the best form of flattery….. When someone has the ability to shift a person, a team, or a room, you should go hone in on that.” ~ The REALity of Interpersonal Leadership
“When you examine the traits you see in a leader, there are those of confidence, decisiveness, empowerment, strength of will, and persuasiveness. They are able to command the room without a title, but their mere presence enables mutual respect.” ~ The REALity of Interpersonal Leadership
